A View to Creech Hill
This newly built farmhouse replaced a small, 19th Century cottage. The original cottage, being a very simple two-storey stone farmhouse, suffered from a number of rather insensitive 20th Century extensions to the rear and side, including a UPVC conservatory. As well as this, an on-site inspection confirmed the absence of suitable foundation to the existing house.
Whilst bigger than the cottage it replaced, the new farmhouse was developed to be similar in scale and in appearance to other farmhouses existing in the surrounding area. Internally, the layout was arranged in traditional fashion, with the public spaces on the ground level and the private spaces on the first floor. In addition, the property received a conservatory, reminiscent of the history of the previous cottage, with a man-made stream running under it, connecting the front and rear landscapes.
