House above the Heath

As a 1960s Grade II listed property, this unusual house was originally designed to be a striking contemporary home. A need to respect its strong architectural language and listed Grade II status meant that a sensitive approach was required to bring the property into the twenty-first century and secure a complex application for Listed Building Consent with the local planning authority.

The comprehensive interior design package fused specially commissioned artwork and furniture with strong colours to produce a very special family home located above North London’s Hampstead Heath. Complex issues surrounding the lighting, heating and security were resolved whilst also integrating a modern smart controls network to bring the six-bedroom house up to date. The project also involved the design of a painting studio in the garden, converting an existing pool into a games room and complete renewal of the hard and soft landscaping.
